Account types and roles
Belrald Assets keeps different kinds of user separate so everyone sees only what they should. This page explains the account types and the roles you can give a team member on a business workspace.
Account types
Section titled “Account types”You sign in once, and your single login can hold a place in more than one of these at the same time:
| Account type | Who it’s for | How you get in |
|---|---|---|
| Business | Companies that manage assets and property | Sign up, then invite your team |
| Personal | Individuals tracking their own assets | Sign up |
| Vendor | Contractors and suppliers you work with | Sign up as a vendor |
| Tenant | Occupants of a property you manage | Invite only — a tenant can’t self-register |
Each place you belong to is a workspace. If you belong to more than one, you choose which one to work in after you sign in — see Log in and switch workspace.
Roles on a business workspace
Section titled “Roles on a business workspace”When you invite someone to a business workspace, you give them a role. The role decides what they can do:
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including deleting records and transferring ownership. |
| Admin | Everything an owner can, except permanently deleting records. |
| Manager | Run day-to-day work — create, assign, and update assets, work orders, and schedules. |
| Technician | Do the work — pick up jobs, run procedures, and record what they did. Technicians can hold a skills-and-availability profile. |
| Member | Read-only access. |
| Viewer | Read-only access. |
Choosing a role
Section titled “Choosing a role”- Invite the people who plan and assign work as Managers.
- Invite the people who carry out the work as Technicians, so you can track their skills and workload.
- Use Member or Viewer for people who only need to look — an accountant or an executive, say.
- Keep Owner and Admin to the few people who set the workspace up and manage billing and access.
